Secondary school staff are encouraged to schedule employment/career related workshops for in-class presentation.

Work Readiness and Advancement Program (WRAP)

Youth Employment Skills Strategy

WRAP focuses on supporting youth who are experiencing homelessness, unstable housing and who may struggle with mental health/addictions, which all can contribute to poor employment retention.

Participants of this program will:

Complete a 3-week paid skills employment training
Receive industry recommended training and certifications such as Smart Serve, Safe Food Handling and/or First Aid CPR
Complete a 8-week paid job placement with a local employer
Wrap-around supports in housing, addiction support and mental health are also provided

Employers… working with youth in the program gives you trained candidates and an opportunity for a hiring incentive for hiring participants from this program.
